On her twenty-first birthday, her fathers gift her with her dream vacation, which quickly turns into an unmitigated nightmare. First, she butts heads with a cranky Coletti War Commander. To complete the fiasco, the Shebu, a stone of unfathomable power, is stolen. Now Zarek, the Coletti Overlord, demands she work with the cranky Coletti to retrieve it, or her fathers will be imprisoned on a penal colony. Can her Berserker skills save the galaxy? Can she avoid falling in love with the smokin’ hot War Commander?
Poof! Derek appeared next to me. “What’s going on?”
“They’re fighting over me.”
“What? Didn’t you tell them you belong to me?”
“I did repeatedly, but I’m not wearing an ownership band and they figure I’m fair game.”
“There’s an easy fix for that.” Derek reached into a side pocket and pulled out a black ownership band with copper etching. “Retract your helmet.”
I didn’t really want to wear a piece of metal that made me nothing more than property, but I was sick to death of testosterone fueled idiots trying to claim me. A quick tap on my bracelet and it slid away.
“There’s a ceremony that goes with this, but since we’re trying to save the galaxy, it’ll have to wait.” He fastened it around my throat and kissed me hungrily.
Ear-shattering roars broke us apart.
Their tentacles standing out from their heads, Godzilla and the naked Askole were glowering at us.
“See.” I pointed to the ownership band as it adjusted to fit my neck perfectly. “The War Commander is my mate.”
“The female is mine!” The naked Askole tossed Godzilla into a wall with a loud splat!
“How many times do I have to tell you, I belong to the War Commander, before it penetrates that thick skull of yours?”
“Why is he naked?” Derek wanted to know.
“He was showing me his assets.”
Derek pulled out his laser pistol and stunned the naked Askole.
