Heart of the Storm by Gemma Snow πŸ’• Review, New Release Spotlight & Prize Pack Giveaway πŸ’• (Erotic Romance)

Cade and Sawyer might be Hollie's biggest risk yet…

Ten years ago, Hollie Callihan left her best friends Cade Easton and Sawyer Matthews in the middle of the night for fear of breaking their hearts—and broke her own instead. She’s spent her whole life chasing adventures on distant shores, but spring floods in the Black Reef Mountains force Hollie, Region VIII FEMA Response Director, to return to Wolf Creek, the town where she left her heart in two.

Cade and Sawyer are now Wolf Creek’s chief of police and fire captain, Hollie’s first line of defense in emergency response…making them unavoidable. Her former friends are all grown up now and totally at odds since she left.

Hollie knows she should stay as far away from temptation as possible. After all, Wolf Creek is a temporary stop and there’s no place for the daydreams or nightly fantasies she has about Cade and Sawyer—the same ones she’s been having for the last ten long years.

But facing genuine destruction and danger alongside Cade and Sawyer helps Hollie learn that vulnerability and trust aren’t dirty words. If she’s brave enough to let Cade and Sawyer in on what had her running all those years ago, Hollie might just find that taking the biggest risk of her life leads to its biggest adventure—three hearts beating as one.

The writing is EXCELLENT!!!

I absolutely adored the tone of this book and the way it was written. Gemma did, in my opinion, an exceptional job of stringing the story together with a just-barely-there hint of sarcasm and a whole lotta real-world-ness that made me love the characters.

And I don't need to tell you that this book is five-alarm hot (ha! That's funny 'cause Sawyer is the Fire Chief). Yep, Hollie had to figure out her feelings for the town's Fire Chief and Sheriff, respectively. You can imagine the intensity of ANYTHING involving not one, but two alpha males like that!

I've read my share of books like this, but what I really liked about this one was that Cade and Sawyer did NOT like each other. At all. How is this triangle going to work? IS it going to work? Add to that their very realistic skepticism (what man wouldn't be skeptic about his enemy going after the same woman he wanted?), and I was very very happy with these smart, realistic characters Gemma created.

The imagery in this book was also very well done. The story involves a natural disaster, and I felt like I was right in the thick of it.

All in all, I REALLY enjoyed spending my time reading this book, and I am a HUGE Gemma Snow fan!!!

At the Triple Diamond, good things come in threes…

Madison Hollis never expected to find anything at the Triple Diamond Ranch in Montana, a surprise inheritance left to her by an uncle she’d never met. With her career as an event-planning manager for the Silicon Valley tech titans, a job that has pushed her straining engagement to the breaking point, she doesn’t have time for soul-searching.

But, out in the Montana summer sun before putting the ranch up for sale, Madison finds herself distracted by Triple Diamond’s sexy and oh-so-tempting ranch managers. Christian Harlow and Ryder Dean are best friends and total opposites, rebel country boy and pretty boy cowboy, and both are hot as hell.

Intent on loosening her reins, Madison gives herself permission to dive into an affair, surrendering to her desire for both of them. As she gets to know both Ryder and Christian and grows all too familiar with the feeling of them on her skin, Madison wonders if it will be as easy as she’d hoped to go home and leave them behind. But when an ugly secret comes to light, it might just send her running—if something, or someones, can’t convince her to stay…

“A what?”

Against the din of the ancient window air conditioner chugging into the room, Madison’s voice had a tinny, almost petulant sound. But of all the things she had expected from the impromptu meeting with some family estate lawyer she’d never heard of, this wasn’t it.

“A ranch, Ms. Hollis,” Mr. Sidney replied, the tone of his voice indicating that he’d picked up on her confusion and ensuing frustration with the afternoon’s events and that, frankly, he didn’t care. “The Triple Diamond Ranch in Wolf Creek, Montana, to be exact.”

Madison rubbed her hands over her face and tried to make sense of everything. Mr. Sidney had contacted her a week prior about a will left to her by some uncle on her mother’s side, an uncle she’d never heard of, from a mother who’d been gone some eighteen years now. She took a deep breath, trying a different tack.

“Are you certain this is my uncle”—she glanced at the stack of legal documents two inches thick on the desk before her—“Mason?”

Mr. Sidney peered down at her over the wire rim of his thin glasses—a remarkable feat, given that she had at least two inches on the man, who sat short and boney in the chair across the desk.

“Mr. Mason Westerly King first arranged this inheritance with Sidney and Sidney nearly two decades ago,” he replied. “We’ve had ample time to determine and confirm your identity, Ms. Hollis.”

Madison resisted the urge to roll her eyes, but only just. Mr. Sidney’s attitude came on the tail of what had already been the week from hell. She sighed, her heavy breath spilling out of her mouth like a deflating hot air balloon. It’s only Wednesday.

“Mr. Sidney, I’m afraid I still don’t quite understand. What am I supposed to do with a ranch”—she gestured with her hand—“I don’t know, eight, ten hours away from here?”

He gave a slow blink. “My advice, Ms. Hollis, is to go inspect the ranch yourself. You have all the information on the mineral rights and past financial records. Once you get the lay of the land, you can determine whether you wish to sell or keep the property. But otherwise, after I get your signature on these forms, I’m afraid there’s not much else I can help you with.”

Madison did scowl that time, but with her head bent over the stack of papers while signing the requisite lines, he couldn’t see it. She was perfectly pleased to be done with Mr. Sidney for good, but he was wrong about one major thing. She wasn’t going to decide whether or not to keep the ranch—she had decided the very first time he had mentioned the word inheritance. No, the second she got out to Montana, she would sell the damn thing and be done with it. Maybe then everything would go back to normal. Ha. Yeah, right.

FROM POPULAR ROMANCE AUTHOR GEMMA SNOW

Book two in the Triple Diamond series

When it comes to the two very tempting search-and-rescue survivalists, Lily Hollis is all about getting in touch with nature…

Five years have passed since her fiancΓ©’s death and Lily Hollis has had enough. She’s done with the self-pity and the guilt and putting the brakes on her own life. She’s going to visit her sister, Madison, in Wolf Creek, Montana and she’s going to finish her master’s research, finally graduating, like she never did all those years ago.

But Wolf Creek holds temptation, specifically in the form of the very sexy, very dangerous Dec McCormick and Micah Ellison, two search-and-rescue specialists who run a survival camp near her sister’s ranch. When they suggest she stay with them to complete her fieldwork, Lily is shocked to find herself agreeing. After all, she hasn’t wanted a man in a very long time and now she finds herself wanting two.

Which is…complicated. Because, while some of the folks in Wolf Creek don’t mind unorthodox relationships, Dec and Micah are clear from the start that it doesn’t appeal to them. It’s a shame Lily’s fool heart can’t seem to get the idea, because the more time she spends with the two men, the more she finds herself caring—that is, until one damning question could bring everything to a crashing halt.

Lily knows deep down that there’s more to whatever’s between them, but the question is, can she ever get Dec and Micah to believe it—and what might the future hold if they do?

HOLY SMOKES!!!

Let me just say, I totally GET Gemma's writing. The tone, the expressions, the dialogue, I'm a huge fan of all of it. She writes in a very believable way; the characters speak as real people do and act, or react, as real people do.

Case in point, the heroine, Lily, knew it was not orthodox to fall for two guys at the same time, and boy, did she try her best to talk herself out of the idea. She had suffered a major loss in her life, so I was really rooting for her early on and I'm glad things worked out for her...and then some :)

I also liked the duality of Micah and Dec. They were very different to each other in just about every way, but they certainly fit together like pieces of a puzzle where Lily was concerned...no pun intended. They also just seemed like great guys, guys you'd want to hang out with and could count on. Like, it made me want to take up search and rescue training ;)

Oh, and this book is HOT. These three had SCORCHING chemistry and after denying themselves for a long time and letting that tension build, the dam burst and they just couldn't keep their hands off each other.

This is the second book in the series, and while I haven't read the first one (yet!), I feel it's not necessary in order to enjoy this one. Yes, I met the characters from the first book, but the stories weren't intertwined.

I am 100% Team Gemma, and I can't wait to read more of these Triple Diamond books!!!

They’ve always been a trio—why should love be any different?

Ever since their first days together at Quantico, FBI agents Ev Motovolo, Lucas Vallejo and Quinn Langston have had one another’s backs. They’re as close as friends can get, sharing everything from an apartment to the past traumas that few others know about.

But that all changed, when Quinn and Ev confessed their feelings for each other six months ago…and then three days later when she started having erotic dreams about the other most important man in their lives.

She’s hopeful that a trip to Wolf Creek, Montana for a friend’s wedding can help her put those frustrating desires to rest, but when she gets there, Ev finds two examples of just how well unorthodox relationships can work. Maddy and Lily Hollis, the owner of the Triple Diamond B&B and her sister, are both happily involved with two men and it only serves to make Ev’s situation all the more complicated.

But before Ev is able to untangle her feelings, or have that impossible conversation with her two best friends, they’re thrust into a violent situation that might just rip away any future they could have shared. And if all three of them do make it out alive, will they have the courage to defy the status quo and embrace what’s waiting for them on the other side?
This book is HOT right outta the gate!

Seriously, this book starts off steamy and didn't let up. I mean, come on, two guys want the same woman for her body AND her mind? And they care about her happiness so much that if she wants both of them as partners, they're fine with that? AND the three of them are already best friends anyway and care about each other on the deepest level? That's a recipe for some sensual love if ever I heard one.

Aside from the sexytimes, I REALLY loved Gemma's writing style. Each character has a distinctly different "voice," and some of the one-liners, especially from Lucas, gave me a good chuckle.

I'm not sure how common "group relationships" are in real life, but aside from that aspect, the characters are all believable. They have doubts and flaws and like their liquor just like we all do!

Bottom line: The raw and honest LOVE these guys felt for Ev, and Ev for them, as a partner(s) and Quinn and Lucas felt for each other as pseudo-brothers was truly wonderful to read. The idea may be a social faux pas, but there was nothing trashy or depraved about this erotic romance. We should all be so lucky to find one partner who demonstrates the die-hard love and loyalty these three share, let alone two!
