I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I wasn’t exactly the dullest blade either. I had entered the house without an invitation, and I wasn’t about to explain to anyone that I’d gotten my butt—make that my bare butt—smacked for it. Besides, unless I was a total idiot, I’d stumbled into what was evidently some sort of kink party. No way was I going to admit being within twenty miles of the place. Meeting his eyes, I could see he was sincere.

“No, that’s all right. That spank… I mean, you didn’t hurt me… I was just surprised. I should not have just barged in. How about you forgive me for trespassing, and I’ll forget about you smacking me. Deal?” I asked, sticking my hand out.

Another zing ran through me as his huge hand enveloped mine, shaking to seal our bargain. “Deal.” He gave my fingers another squeeze and grinned. “Though again, it wasn’t smacking, it was a spanking.”

“Tomato, tomahto, what’s the difference,” I quipped with a shrug.

The sound of his chuckle rolled over me, causing my nipples to tighten at the rich timbre. My head was screaming run while my body was yelling stay. About to tell my head to take a hike, a sharp wail split the air. “What was that?” I asked, whipping around to look down the long hallway.

“Don’t be frightened, little one. I’m sure it was just Pamela stating her remorse for her transgressions.”

Transgressions.
