What kind of writer am I?
I am an inspired and free writer who gets ideas from the ordinary to take to the extraordinary. Some ideas just come and make no sense in the ordinary world at all. I don’t feel bound to any type of genre. I am certainly not one type of way as a person. I am a kaleidoscope of many thoughts and feelings and I feel that my writing reflects this as I write romance, horror, sci-fi, and drama. I feel that society tries to put things and people in a box and we as humans are just too complex to do this with. Also, boxing or grouping things or people seems somewhat normal and a way to categorize and I believe that some categorization is inevitable as it allows the human mind to process and identify. However, when it comes to artistry or personality it seems like placing something or someone in a box limits them. Life is limitless and that’s why I want the freedom and breathing room to explore all areas of writing and artistry. I strongly admire artists that cross genres whether it's in music, writing, acting or all three. So, when I think of what kind of writer I am, the things that come to mind are free and inspired. I’m a person who loves to see the scenes in my mind as I close my eyes and my keyboard clicks and the words fill the page with what is in my mind's eye. It's exhilarating and fulfilling and I feel so grateful that I have the capacity and the heart to express myself in such a way.
They walk through the archway and the dancing roses appear to be just what Talie said it would be. The roses grow in such a fashion that they dance with the breeze and the aroma in the garden is what love would smell like if there were such a scent associated with it. There are thousands of vibrant colored roses up and down in rows and they do not look like typical rose bushes. The stems of the roses are different, stronger, and able to uphold the bud. Almost any color that can be thought of is here, including purple, red, blue, yellow, rainbow, black, turquoise, white, pink, orange, two and three tone colors, and a bright red-orange sparkling rose. “Who owns this place?” Marvin asks. “There’s a plaque with the owner’s name on it over here,” Talie says leading the way. The memorial reads: Jonathan Rutherford and Ellen Campanilli Rutherford established “Roses of the Garden” in 1913. “Wow,” Marvin says, “They must have some secret formula regarding horticulture because I’ve never seen such roses!”
