Seth has led the Immortal Guardians for thousands of years. With them fighting by his side, he has protected humans from psychotic vampires, defeated corrupt mercenary armies, defended military bases under attack, and more. But the latest enemy to rise against the Immortal Guardians has proven to be a formidable one, wielding almost as much power as Seth. His goal is simple. He wants to watch the world burn. And he will use every means at his disposal to accomplish it. Seth and his Immortal Guardians have succeeded thus far in staving off Armageddon despite heartbreaking losses. But they have never before faced such danger. Seth has only one wish: to protect his Immortal Guardians family and ensure the continuation of humanity by defeating his foe. But then Leah walks into his life and sparks a new desire.
Leah Somerson has suffered losses of her own. It has taken her a long time to rebuild her life and find some semblance of peace. Then one night a tall, dark, powerful immortal with what appears to be the weight of the world on his shoulders stumbles into her shop, and everything changes. Peace and contentment are no longer enough. Now she wants more. She wants to find happiness. She wants to erase the darkness in Seth’s eyes and replace it with love and laughter. She knows he’s different in ways that make most fear him. Even some of his immortal brethren keep a careful distance. But Leah will not. Nor will she shy away when danger strikes.
Hello! Thank you for joining me. I’m thrilled to be here at Romance Novel Giveaways, celebrating the up-coming release of DEATH OF DARKNESS, Immortal Guardians Book 9. If you like a lot of action, passion, humor and romance in the stories you read or listen to, then I think you’ll enjoy Seth and Leah’s book. And if you’re new to my Immortal Guardians series, don’t worry. Each novel and novella can be read as a stand-alone. You’ll just know more about the secondary characters if you read them in order.
I admit I’m a bit of an introvert and usually don’t talk about myself much. So today I thought I would change that and share with you…
5 Things You May Not Know About Me.
- Before my writing career took off, I used to work in the independent film industry in a variety of functions. And—despite my introverted nature—a few directors managed to coax me into appearing onscreen, usually as an extra. My favorite roles were in horror movies because I got to do more. I played a machete-wielding maniac who alternately snuck up behind unsuspecting victims or ran toward them while screaming like a madwoman in one film. I was a zombie who crawled out of a moonlit grave in another. I was even once “disemboweled.” Horror movies are really fun to make. LOL
- Weaving my own tales, then going over edits, copyedits, proofs, etc. tends to limit my television viewing time, so I tend to binge-watch my favorite shows once they hit Netflix or release on DVD as a reward for meeting publishing deadlines. Some of my current favorites are Stranger Things, Santa Clarita Diet, Game of Thrones, and Humans.
- I love ghost stories, which is why ghosts occasionally make an appearance in my Immortal Guardians series. I think it’s because I used to spend my summers exploring ghost towns and old abandoned mines with my parents when I was a child and young adult. I’m not talking about the tourist attraction ghost towns. I’m talking about the ones you could only find after hours of traveling barely distinguishable dirt roads that could barely be navigated by a jeep with four-wheel drive. I never actually encountered any ghosts in the crumbling structures we explored, though my mischievous father once scared the pants off me, making me think I had—LOL. But those adventures sparked my imagination and fueled my love of paranormal fiction.
- I used to provide special effects make-up for local independent filmmakers. Some would call it blood and guts make-up. (I worked on the set of quite a few horror movies.) I also provided other special effects, like making safety glass that could shatter without inuring the actors, providing fog, dummy bodies, that sort of thing. But the make-up was my favorite. That never failed to draw an audience of both cast and crew members. And their comments—Eew! That looks so real! Ugh—that’s so gross! Would you do my make-up for Halloween?—always amused me. It was a lot of fun. And those experiences are why independent filmmaking is occasionally referenced in my Immortal Guardians books, namely in Night Reigns and Awaken the Darkness.
- That’s me singing in the A Sorceress of His Own trailer. I still have no idea how the composer and sound engineer talked me into doing it. LOL
I hope you’ll enjoy Seth and Leah’s story! If you’re new to the series and decide to start at the beginning or dive in at an earlier book, I hope you’ll have fun with my Immortal Guardians family. They’re a lively bunch of powerful males who absolutely adore strong women.
