Her handsome husband, Mickey, works for an oil development company. The money is great but as he climbs the corporate ladder, he must spend more time traveling and away from home.
It was love at first sight when they met in college. Their storybook marriage is the envy of all of their friends. They keep the spark in their marriage glowing red hot with wild, uninhibited behaviors in the bedroom. So why does the feeling of impending doom occupy Zoey’s thoughts?

I want to thank Romance Novel Giveaway blog for being one of my Virtual Tour stop hosts. I hope I get the readers excited about my new book, Zoey’s Place. Here are a few Fun Facts/Behind the Scenes/Did You Know tidbits about my book.
The first fun fact about Zoey’s Place is that the book evolved from a story challenge I did a few years back. The challenge was from a Facebook author’s group I belonged to at the time. The article topic was “summer love.” That article became the draft for the first chapter of Zoey’s Place. Another fun fact about that article was that I got the inspiration for it from the Flo Rida song, Apple Bottom Jeans, which is a song I do with my Zumba group. In the first encounter with Zoey, she is described as having an “apple-bottomed ass protruding below her way-too-short cut-off jeans.”
A behind the scenes story would be about the evolution of the cover. The current cover is the third cover I revealed to my readers as “THE” Zoey cover. I tested out various pictures for it on my Facebook page and designed the first cover from the results. It was a pretty calm scene of a man and woman sitting close together watching a sunset on a lake. Lakes are central in the book and I thought it was fitting. I like purple so I put a purple frame around it. It was okay, but I wasn’t crazy about it.
Then I found another photo that I thought was sexier. It too, was of a couple on the shore of a sun-setting lake but they were standing and embracing, pressing close together. For this one I went with sunset colors and put an orange frame around the edge. It was better but I just wasn’t satisfied.
By chance I came upon the black and white photo that is the final Zoey’s Place cover. I fell in love with it from the moment I saw it. I thought it portrayed my idea of Zoey perfectly and of her man. The picture is suggestively sexy but not enough to make it X-rated. I thought the B&W gave it a dramatic personal effect. You don’t really know where the cover couple is so it could be anywhere in the book that Zoey is getting romantic, and there are too many of those to keep track of.
Besides a two day trip to Las Vegas over forty years ago, I’ve never been there or any other part of Nevada. However, I did a great deal of research to make sure I got the geography and topography correct. I used Google Earth for a lot of it. I do have a friend who lives outside of Las Vegas who filled me in on the term Whale, which is used for a high-stakes gambler, and about the MGM Grand Hotel Mansion rooms that the Whales are comp’ed. Her husband is a part time bouncer at a casino and she was a wealth of information. I also Googled pictures of it.
I also did extensive research of Incline Village, the exclusive town on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe where Zoey and her husband, Mickey, have a house. The images I found were breathtaking. It is a truly beautiful place that I hope to visit sometime.
One last bit of insider info on Zoey’s Place. Roughly sixteen of the character names in the book are either family, friends, or a pet’s name. I’ll give you a spoiler. Jenna is my dog’s name. Not all sixteen people know each other so only I know who they all are. Maybe my sister Annette knows, too. Ops, another spoiler.

Their lovemaking was hard and intense. It was a good thing their bedroom was in the guest quarters above the garage and not connected to the house where everyone could hear them making loud, crazy love. Zoey’s climactic groan of pleasure could have woken the dead.
