The Portal Series by Kiki Wellington 💕 Reviews, Series Tour & Gift Card Giveaway 💕(Paranormal Erotica)

What would you do if the gateway to ecstasy was literally at your fingertips? Would you lock it up and throw away the key, denying yourself unbelievable carnal desires? Would you stick your toe inside the door, allowing yourself to sample these erotic experiences, but never completely indulging? Or would you barge through the portal to pleasure, leaving all of your inhibitions and dispositions behind in your wake?

This is the dilemma women face when they move into 28 Riverhill Road. Although they can’t explain the unseen sensuality that plagues the house, they also can’t resist its lure.

The Portal Series contains the following erotic stories:

Coralee never wanted to be a pastor’s wife...and she certainly never wanted the creepy house her husband inherited from his loyal flock. Yet there she was, alone in a passionless marriage, irritated by the constant demands of the church, and uncomfortable in her own life.

Then he showed up. Coralee wasn’t sure where he came from, but she did know he took her to otherworldly heights of sensuality she could never conjure up even in her wildest fantasies. Was he a ghost? A demon? Or the Devil himself? It didn’t make any difference...as far as Coralee was concerned, he was the very answer to her prayers.

Warning: On the Other Side of Lust (41,900 words) contains closet connections, lascivious lessons, paranormal pleasures, and amorous awakenings.
A dark, sexy, spooky tale!

This is Kiki's first full-length novella, and I could not WAIT to read it!

As usual, Kiki did an excellent job of portraying the characters' emotions. I felt so sorry for Coralee, and I truly hoped she would find some kind of happiness in the end.

The story was told in an interesting way; the main character, Coralee, was telling me the story. The tone was more conversational than narrative at times, and I really enjoyed that!

The ending was quite unexpected, the loose ends loosely tied up, and I am so excited to see where this series goes next!

Although most people believe 28 Riverhill Road is the keeper of not-so-buried secrets they’d just as soon forget, for Clarissa, the old house represents an opportunity for a new life.

That is, until the macabre obsessions set in. When she’s not trying to unearth the mysteries of the house, she’s stoking the flames of a sexual obsession with a notorious serial killer that’s been dominating the news. And when these fixations collide, she’s introduced to a passion unlike anything she’s ever known. Clarissa may be enjoying herself now, but will her ecstasy ultimately lead to agony?

Warning: Through the Doorway of Desire (41,400 words) contains legal lust, seance chicanery, and convertible coitus.
Sexy and spooky!

True to form, Kiki writes with a "Twilight Zone"-esque-ness to her stories, and it's a refreshing break from reading straight-up "this is scary for the sake of being scary" paranormal erotica.

I felt Clarissa's shift from who she was to who she became was very well done, and, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, the "Twilight Zone" moment that revealed itself had me saying, "No way!" out loud!

And Kiki sure didn't skimp on the steam! This is absolutely erotic in every sense of the word!

I will admit that I liked this book more than the first one, and I just know I'll like the next one even more!

I'm SO excited to read the final book and see what ultimately happens to 28 Riverhill Road!

Despite its dubious reputation, Charlotte falls in love with 28 Riverhill Road and believes buying the old house will bring excitement into her life—and help revitalize a relationship that has long gone stale.

And she does find the excitement she’s looking for when the peculiar house introduces her to an alternate life filled with the love and sexual intensity she’s been craving. As she straddles the edge of fantasy and reality, Charlotte eventually finds herself being forced to make an impossible choice.

Warning: The Entry to Ecstasy (25,700 words) contains sensual scents, mysterious missives, and a passionate parallel plane.
A happy ending at 28 Riverhill Road!

This book definitely wasn't as spooky as the previous two in the series, but it was definitely as steamy! I think I like the vibe of this book the best, but I thought the twist in book two was amazing!

I'll admit, I had a hard time deciding who to root for; the ghost or the boyfriend, and while the ending was a happy one, I hate to say it maybe wasn't the one I hoped it would be!

All in all, I'd definitely be interested in reading more books like this from Kiki!

Strange Inspiration

I'm a firm believer that inspiration can come from anywhere. It's not uncommon for me to overhear part of a conversation and the out-of-context snippet leads to me creating a character, a scene, or an entire plot. Similarly, the inspiration for The Portal series came from two unlikely places: a paranormal podcast and the Discovery ID channel.

It may sound weird that sexy stories can come from scary podcasts about ghost hunting, or disturbing crime documentaries, but somehow unlikely things tend to click in my mind in gloriously odd ways. I first got the idea for the entire series from listening to paranormal investigators on a podcast talk about how some haunted homes are portals to the other side, and you never know what scary entity is going to come through them. Hearing that made me wonder: What if sexy ghosts or demons came through the portal of a house? And that’s how 28 Riverhill Road was born.

But where does Discovery ID come in? Well, I've been a true crime junkie for most of my life. I remember being fascinated watching true crime made-for-TV movies with my grandmother when I was a kid—so, obviously, when the ID channel came along, it was automatically going to be a favorite of mine. That was a no-brainer.

As I worked on The Portal series, I thought I would infuse some of my true crime love into Clarissa, the main character of Through the Doorway of Desire, the second installment of the series. Then I took that love to the extreme so when her obsession with a serial killer and a portal that attracts sex ghosts collided, it would lead to a dark, erotic explosion beyond anything Clarissa had ever imagined.

The Portal series was a ton of fun to write, and if you read it, I hope you also have a good, sexy time. But don’t try opening up any portals in your own home: Chances are what comes through will be bearing nightmares, not orgasms.

Kiki Does Ghost Sex

Well, technically I don’t. But I sure do love writing about it—and no one is more surprised about that than I am. At first it was kind of a fluke: I was thinking about writing erotica and since I love watching paranormal reality shows, I thought, “A ghost sex story? Sure, why not!”

When I wrote my first paranormal series, Supernatural Seductions, I fell in love with the idea of ghost sex—not to mention the ghost soldier in the stories who seduced women at a country B&B. Little did I know, a lot of people fantasize about paranormal things that bump you in the night and it even has a name: spectrophilia. More people than I ever expected are turned on by the idea of having a supernatural entity that is completely dedicated to giving them pleasure. Who knew?

My next exploration of ghost sex was in the Haunted Desperation series, where I chronicled the adventures of a paranormal investigation team that doesn’t mind getting down and dirty when it comes to collecting evidence. The series was more campy than spooky, but it still had plenty of sexy times in it.

My current ghost sex series, The Portal, ties together the fear my characters have from living in a haunted house with the curiosity and lust they feel when the ghosts seduce them. Each story describes the experiences of a different woman with a different ghost because this portal to pleasure attracts a lot of horny spirits with insatiable appetites!

So, it’s official: Kiki loves ghost sex! And although I have no plans of trying to summon up a sensual entity in real life, I definitely plan to write more erotic stories about these paranormal pleasures. In the meantime, I hope you will check out The Portal series. Since each story has a different sexy flavor, there’s a little bit of something in the series for everybody.

If You Open It, They Will Come

I got the idea for The Portal series while listening to a paranormal podcast that discussed portals where spirits may enter at any time. That really captured my imagination and I thought, “I need to open up a portal to pleasure!”

In the series, three women who live in a haunted house at different times have very different experiences with whatever comes through the portal. For Coralee in On the Other Side of Lust, the entity gives her liberation from a miserable marriage and opens her up in ways her husband always refused to do. Since Coralee married so young, she never had the opportunity to really experiment sexually, and her husband wasn’t interested in exploring with her. She also never got the opportunity to experience romantic love in a healthy way. So, when an entity comes through the house’s portal, he gives her an outlet in ways her husband couldn’t—or wouldn’t.

For Clarissa in Through the Doorway of Desire, the portal brings the true crime crush she’s been obsessed with and gets her tuned in to the dark urges she didn’t know she had. Unlike Coralee, she had a happy marriage and a healthy sex life. But she also had a dark side that she developed from reading so much true crime. When the serial killer Clarissa lusts after comes through the portal, he taps into her darkest desires and unleashes a side of her she didn’t realize was so fulfilling.

In The Entry to Ecstasy, the ghost that comes through the portal answers Charlotte’s entreaties for passion and affection lacking in her relationship, and makes her confront what true love really is. Although she knew her boyfriend loved her in some ways, in other ways she felt like he just didn’t measure up. When Charlotte’s ghost arrives, he gives her everything she wants—and he wants to give it to her forever.

The Portal series was a lot of fun to write because all of these women are grappling with reality and fantasy, trying to figure out which side will win. They all go through some sort of interesting evolution by living in the haunted house—and they all enjoy tons of hot sex along the way. I hope you will enjoy reading the series as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Thank you for allowing me to make an appearance on your blog! My name is Kiki Wellington, and I’m joined by the ladies of The Portal Series: Coralee from On the Other Side of Lust, Clarissa from Through the Doorway of Desire, and Charlotte from The Entry to Ecstasy. We’re here to talk about their experiences at 28 Riverhill Road and exactly what kind of sexy ghost came through the house’s portal.

Coralee, what was it like to be married to a minister?

Well, Kiki, I found it was impossible to make the marriage work after my husband knocked up one of his parishioners and I started giving it up to the ghost in our house. I did get the opportunity to fuck one of the Sunday school teachers, so that was a benefit of the marriage I suppose. And of course, I would never have met my one true love if Joseph’s church hadn’t gifted us that house.

How is your otherworldly relationship going now?

It’s hard for us to see each other, me being in the institution and all. But I know he still loves me.

Well, every relationship has its challenges. And speaking of challenges, Clarissa, being obsessed with a death row inmate must have been a real drain on you.

It was. But since his case was on appeal, I got to see him a lot on television.

You kind of take being a true crime junkie to the extreme by having sex with the ghost of a serial killer. What was the attraction?

He’s a romantic in his own way. I don’t know if he was guilty or not, but he was on death row for killing the husbands of several women he had affairs with.

And nothing says romance like a little homicide, am I right? I’m addicted to Discovery ID, so I get it. Did you hook up with him after he was executed?

No, he committed suicide to be with me.

How charming! Charlotte, you seem like the sanest one in this bunch, how did you get into the whole ghost sex thing?

When I moved into the house with my boyfriend, he wasn’t satisfying me sexually and my ghost wanted to take care of those needs. I was feeling lonely at the time, plus my boyfriend refused to marry me, so I was vulnerable to the advances of a spirit.

Couldn’t fake a pregnancy like a normal woman, huh?

No, I draw the line at sleeping with paranormal entities.

Were you all having sex with the same ghost? Because I smell an episode of “Maury” here. What do you think, Charlotte?

No, he promised me he wasn’t sleeping with anyone else. We were in a monogamous relationship. I mean, aside from me having a boyfriend that is.

Clarissa?

Well, my ghost was a well-known playboy, so I suppose that’s a possibility.

Coralee?

My ghost only has eyes for me. I know he does. And if another woman tries to come near him, I’ll cut a bitch.

Well, on that pleasant note, I think it’s time for us to wrap things up here. Ladies, I have to say, I loved writing you and spending time with you...but at the end of the day, you’re all pretty cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Then again, I created the three of you, so what does that say about me?

Now back to you, my gracious blog host....

Where does good sex begin?

Between the ears, of course!

That's why I work hard to write erotica that stimulates the largest sex organ we have--the mind--because when we're titillated upstairs, the nether region is sure to follow.

  3. I think it's interesting and cool how the portal series put together a paranormal experience and erotica. I've never heard about portals and spirits entering through them so this is actually really intriguing. The book cover is so haunting and gives me chills, and I LOVE IT. Awesome book cover!
