Paul Jennings has tried to find love like his mom and dad's. But over the years, awful blind dates and shallow relationships have taught Paul one thing - love like his parents' does not exist. At least not for him.
When their friend convinces them to go out on a blind date, both expect it to be like other blind dates - a disaster. But when the date is anything but, Kasey and Paul find themselves unexpectedly hopeful. Can Kasey open herself up to Paul and let him see her, scars and all? Can Paul handle all the chaos that is the Thomas family? Will they have a chance at happily ever after?
Years and many hours were spent at the public library, browsing books and learning the art of the Dewey Decimal System. I was that kid who would always check out the maximum limit of books (10) and would be back in a few days to check out more. My scrawny arm muscles were always given a good workout during the summer months because of all the book-hauling I required of them.
To me, a book was the perfect accessory for any occasion. Grocery shopping with mom? Book in hand. Riding the tractor with dad? Book in hand. Hanging out at the community pool and having to take the mandatory break for the lifeguards? Definitely book in hand.
When my husband suggested that I should write a book, I scoffed. I don’t write books. I read them. Yet, here I am. Two books down and another almost finished. Once I started, my fingers seemed to have a mind of their own, pulling words from my head and typing them onto the screen almost without thought. I guess an author has been inside me all along; the reader just had to take a long enough break for the writer to come out and play.
