Trace needs to focus on the job at hand, not daydream about smearing icing all over the sexy baker…and licking it off. This job is the key to getting his construction company back on its feet after his time in prison. Besides, no one deserves a fresh start more than Avery, and she certainly won’t get that with him.
After a delectable night of passion (and pie), Trace craves something more. But he’ll be damned if he’ll let his checkered past crush her dreams. And as Avery starts to realize how Trace fulfills more than just her physical needs, she struggles with whether to let her history decide her future, or explore the wild new possibilities of forever…
I LOVED IT!!!
This is yet another example of why I love Skye's writing. I'm a relatively new reader of hers, but I will absolutely read ANYTHING she writes.
I liked Avery because, unlike so many other heroines in romance novels, she didn't subscribe to the "I'll keep my thoughts to myself and not talk about them in an effort to save my relationship" philosophy. She got mad and hurt, and she told Trace. Just like what real people do. All of Skye's heroines are like that, and I love it.
Trace was beyond intense. I loved absolutely everything about him, and enjoyed reading how he changed over the time he knew Avery. The almost-final-scene was so touching, and Trace could not have been more perfect.
Needless to say, the love was scorching between these two. I can't wait to catch up with them in future books to see how they're doing!
If you love a steamy, solid, engaging contemporary romance, this is the book for you!
