Angel Devereaux is smart, sexy and definitely on Sam’s blacklist. After siding with Sam’s enemy fifteen years ago, Angel can’t help but wonder what if….what if Sam had never left? What if he could forgive her now? She had her reasons, but he won’t listen. So enough with words, sometimes action is exactly what’s called for.
Fun Fact #1: The Tempered Steel series, started as a trilogy with two brother’s stories per book. My editor said, “Why are you short changing the reader? Each brother should have a book. So, I have edited and lengthened each story. Then fans wanted to know more about the recipes in the books. So, now, I’m doing a cookbook with all of the Coalson family recipes. Then, fans wanted to know more about the minor characters. Okay, so far, my Tempered Steel series is now seven books for the seven brothers, two novellas, one for a Vegas trip and one for their parents, Hank and Ginny, and their love story. So tell me which characters you want to know more about, and I’ll write it!
Fun Fact #2: The cover – Everyone who sees it wants to know why the teddy bear? I say, it’s in the prologue, so read the prologue. lol Actually, it was a last minute change. My cover models did some pics and I gave them to my cover designer for the front cover. She emails me back with a problem – Did I notice nipple because there’s nipple? Oh God, (flashback to Seinfeld episode with Elaine), cover reveal was next week! I had to find another picture and quick. I saw this on Shutterstock and it was perfect. Leather and Lace might seem a bit incongruous with a teddy bear, but if you read the book, you’ll understand perfectly. Oh and, we used the cover model pic on the back of the paperback copy, cropped and lightened so no nipple.
Fun Fact #3: Each of the brothers in my Tempered Steel series is loosely based on my brothers-in-law. I took one positive trait and one not so positive trait to create my characters. They think it’s fun to try and guess which alpha male they are. They haven’t been right yet.
Fun Fact #4: - Although the cover does not depict an “in your face” eroticism, Sam and Angel’s story is quite erotic. It features BDSM, D/s, and bondage play. While book one, Whistlin’ Dixie, was slightly graphic in sexual terms, Leather and Lace is much more erotic. There are seven brothers after all, and just like real life brothers, the characters’ personalities are different, so each book is different.
Fun Fact #5: - While book one, Whistlin’ Dixie, gave me the start as an indie author, it was Leather and Lace that has helped to hone my skills as a writer, and I guess it showed. I’ve gotten more five star reviews from Leather and Lace, my Facebook page, Maggie Adams, has over one thousand likes, and I now have a street team, Beta readers and a Facebook Fan page, Maggie’s Minxes. I completely ugly cried over that last one. I have fans!!! Jeez, I’m tearing up again. I just never thought about the fan aspect of it. It’s amazing and I’m honored. I’ll try my damnedest not to let you down.

“Well, if it isn’t the Angel of Mercy. Have you come to administer to the weak and injured? I’m afraid you’re a little too late. Everyone’s been patched up. Of course you can always kiss the boo-boos, can’t you?” Sam drawled as he shifted position on the railing.
Angel felt a blush heat her cheeks at his words and started to turn away. This was obviously a mistake. She was getting nowhere with him. She saw him wince as he moved and she turned back. “Were you really hurt?”
“Yeah, I’m in a lot of pain. Do you think you can help me?” he drawled as he passed his hand across his brow.
Angel immediately became solicitous. “Where are you hurt?” She ran up the front porch steps. She looked him over, searching for injury.
“Here.” Sam smiled and pointed to his groin. She could see his erection tenting his jeans. “Still want to help?”
Angel stiffened in outrage. “You bast…”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. Careful there, Angel baby, you wouldn’t want to tarnish that halo, would you?” He hefted himself off the railing and came to stand next to her.

ReplyDeleteDo you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
ReplyDeleteAs a new author, I still have a day job. I own a daycare in my home. My writing schedule consists of promoting first thing in the morning before my little angels get here, and writing during nap time and after everyone leaves. But if something occurs to me during the day, I jot it down on a notepad for future exploration, well, if I can read it!
DeleteSounds good.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am having such fun writing this series. No billionaires or bikers(well, maybe one or two), just hard working men and women who know how to live and laugh and love.
