Enlisting the help of his closest friends, Voryk's only goal is to keep Nexlana safe, naked and his. Unfortunately, she was already someone's favorite pet and when Master comes calling, it’s with a vengeance and the intent of never letting her slip away again. Haunted pasts continue to resurface, only Nexlana's might be far deadlier than any of them could have guessed—connections between her, arson, an assassination and a cold case no one ever wanted to delve into again. To stop the worst case scenario from taking place, they must finally figure out just who in the hell the Master really is.
Fun Facts About The Zen Lounge
Hilo was supposed to be Voryk's only best friend when I started writing TZL, but Gryph wiggled and wrangled his way into the plot and ended up taking on a much larger role than I had ever anticipated. Also, I had no idea just what his purpose was until he decided partway through the book to be related to Nikolina Kade's case. Therefore, the prologue wasn't written until after the book was already finished.
The original name for the impenetrable, alien metal 'Geiloflex' used in the Intergalactic Penitentiary and Asylum of Mars (I-PAM), was supposed to be Hydroflex Titanium, but upon researching, I discovered that this was a trademarked name, so was forced to change it.
Due to the word count limit for submission, I had to cut two entire scenes from The Zen Lounge. One was the mentioned business meeting that Voryk had with Javier Salinas, giving insight into how he managed to get sold out tickets for a UFC match. The other was the only scene in the entire book that Voryk's arch-nemesis, T.R. Rigo was in.
I have always had an extreme fascination with the lost city of Atlantis and couldn't resist putting something about it in the book. I was disappointed when a prophecy of Atlantis re-rising in 2010 never happened, but I'm still holding out hope!
I'm a total Pantser when it comes to writing, so I had no idea who the bad guy was until Gryph did. Surprise!
The original version of The Zen Lounge was completed in 2009, and if it hadn't been for my best friend's mom suggesting that I submit something I'd already finished, rather than wait until I write something new, it might still be sitting in My Documents collecting cyber-dust. Thanks mom!

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Nex just held onto him for a moment. When she pulled back, she kissed him softly, if not a little seductively, before smiling and settling back in her seat.
“Yeah,” Voryk exhaled, his blood humming with the passion that never went dormant between them. “Then there's that. You couldn't possibly ever make me get tired of that.”
Laughing, Nex just smiled knowingly at him.
“In fact,” he grinned, as he started the car forward again. “It might help you learn faster if for every question and answer, we celebrate by having sex.”
Nex laughed again. “You think so?” She asked, giving him another seductive look.
“Mm, you keep doing that, love, we're not going to make it down this road much further,” Voryk swore sincerely.
“What does belle amore mean?” Nex asked, instead.
“Is that a question because you want to have sex, or do you really want to know?” He inquired.
“I really want to know,” she laughed. “It sounds so pretty.”
“It should,” Voryk smiled over at her. “It means beautiful love, cara mia.”
“Cara mia?”
“My dear,” Voryk answered with a wolfish grin. “That's two you owe me now.”
